02/21/09 - Well I finally completed the transfer of all the videos from the camcorder to the computer. I then matched up the audio to the video and up loaded them to Vimeo for storage. I have also updated the Video page of the site to include all the videos in the order they were played. The videos did not come out as good as I wanted as I forgot to put the camcorder on manual focus - so some sections are blurry. Also the camcorder is not the best so the white lights don't really turn out white. The videos for 2009 will be better.
12/29/08 - We were notified today that we won first place in the CBS 12 Holiday Photo Contest. Maria will be going down to the station tomorrow to pick up our prize envelope. If you would like to see the photo that was submitted, click HERE.
12/28/08 - The turn out has been OK. I feel that we could have done better if we were able to get a newscrew to come out and do a story on our display. We did have a Christmas party and everyone who came to the party (44 out of the 53 invited) brought food. We will be weighing the food that has been collected prior to giving it to the Society of St Vincent De Paul. Look for the stats soon.
12/02/08 - turn out has been slow, but it is only the 4th night of the show. The donation box was put out with a set of red, green and white lights under them to bring attention to the box. We are collecting food for the Society of St. Vincent De Paul.
I will be taking more pictures of the display soon and will be updating the pictures on the site soon.
12/01/08 - Had the first issue with the show running tonight. I had 1 set of GFI outlets trip. This shut down 1 of my controllers. I was out watching the show and noticed that I was not seeing the arch, columns or lights on the roof. After resetting the GFI, everything was OK. The show picked up like nothing ever happened.
11/28/08 - Thankgiving was fantastic. After stuffing ourselves with Turkey and stuffing, I treated my family and friends to a preview of our Christmas Light show. It was a huge hit. I then loaded a video that my father captured on his Kodak camera. I also added a new page to the site for Videos.
11/26/08 - All wire has been pulled, and I even have some wire remaining. Looks like the 3 sets of measurements that I took paid off. I have my father helping me to put the male and female ends onto the wires while I am at work. He is going to try and start attaching the wires to the controllers and lights today. I just might be able to see some moving lights tonight.
11/25/08 - Everything is setup. The star is complete, tested and ready to be placed on the roof. I will be working to get everything connected till probably midnight everynight this week to make the Friday 11/28 show. So far we have about 75% of the wire de-spooled for the extension cords. I still have to place all the male and female ends on them and make the connections to the controllers.
11/24/08 - The 4 day weekend has come and gone. A lot of work was accomplished over the weekend. I have to give thanks to the Kalament's for all there hard work and assistance in helping set things up.
